Plique a Jour is a French term for Letting in The Daylight. Plique a Jour is an enamelling technique where enamel is applied in blocks, very much like cloissone. The enamel has no backing so the light can come through like a stained glass window. The plique a jour enamel technique reminds us of a beautiful mosaic made of glass. This specially formulated plique a jour enamel glass was used to create jewellery, stained glass windows, lamps and objects art.
