A stunning brass vesta in the Art Nouveau manner. The vesta has a rich iridescent green enamel celtic design. The vesta opens via a flip lid with a strike strip at the bottom. This is a lovely collector’s item . As smoking became popular during the 19th Century small boxes were produced to store matches which were named Vestas or Match Safes. Vestas were designed to keep matches safe and dry with a strike stip used to light them. This is a beautiful Arts & Crafts style vesta!
