Polished Brass Horseshoe Vesta & wick holder Equine Horse Racing

A wonderful polished brass vesta case fashioned in the form of a horseshoe, featuring a finely etched scene of a racehorse leaping over a fence to the front. Beautifully crafted and full of charm, this piece combines form and function with a clever double-hinged opening mechanism and an integrated wick holder.

To one side, a small spur mechanism extends the wick (not included), originally used to create a tiny “go-to-bed” light — a delightful feature seldom found on examples of this kind. The brass has a beautiful patina. A superb and unusual sporting collectible, ideal for lovers of equestrian or fine curios.
