Brass WW1 Soldier Vesta Match Safe

A stunning brass vesta displaying an imge of a soldier and the inscription 1915. The vesta opens via a flip lid with a  strike strip at the bottom. This is a lovely collector’s item . As smoking became popular during the 19th Century small boxes were produced to store matches which were named Vestas or Match Safes. Vestas were designed to keep matches safe and dry with a strike stip used to light them. This is a beautiful later example of a world war 1 vesta!
