Antique Mother of Pearl Snuff Vinaigrette Locket Vintage Perfume Diffuser

A beautiful antique Vinaigrette Locket. This incredible gilt metal locket has a Mother of Pearl back & front. The interior of the locket is set with an ornate gilt metal filigree grill. These types of vinaigrette lockets were popular in the early part of the nineteenth century; they were used to store a perfume fragrance, usually a scent soaked sponge was stored beneath the metal grill.  This can of course be used today to store a sentimetal keepsake of your own choice such as a lock of hair or even your own favourite perfume!  A wonderful antique mother of pearl vinaigrette locket!
